This week, we were blessed to interview our Leadership Congress Specialist, Giulia Giampa. Giulia serves as the student liaison and works with students all year round in preparation for our summer Leadership Congress. She is an amazing member of the team. Please enjoy this interview!
What is your role at Patriot Academy and how long have you been with us?
I am a Leadership Congress Specialist, and more specifically, the Student Liaison for Patriot Academy. I’ve been honored to serve in this role since 2025, and have been working for Patriot Academy since 2022!
Can you share about your professional background and career path leading to this role?
My first official interaction with Patriot Academy was signing up as a Constitution Coach in 2020. That summer, my sister and I attended the (virtual) Leadership Congresses, and I continued to plug in, pursuing hosting Constitution Classes both in-person and virtually and volunteering with the Coach Program. In August of 2022, I got the huge surprise and immense privilege of being hired onto the team! By 2023, I was splitting my time between both the Constitution Coach and Leadership Congress Programs, and I additionally had the opportunity to work with the Customer Support department in 2024. Then in the beginning of 2025, my efforts were concentrated back to only the Leadership Congress Program, as my role and responsibilities there changed and grew.
Why is what you do important? What is your mission?
My personal mission as the Student Liaison is to embody that title to the best of my ability by building connections with each and every student going to Leadership Congress (in addition to all the logistical preparation)—reading their bios ahead of time, learning how to pronounce their names properly, reading over their bills, and preparing myself to be a resource and guide throughout the Leadership Congress as a steady example of servant leadership and joy. My main goal is to share the love and light of Christ with every student I interact with.
What does Patriot Academy’s mission mean to you?
Patriot Academy’s mission inspires me to live out the gospel every day (Matthew 28:19-20). It’s such a blessing to be able to live out my faith working at an organization that is focused on training champions to make an impact politically, but also teaches the true history of our founding, the faith our Founding Fathers had, and Who gave us the rights that are enshrined in our Founding Documents.
Describe a typical week for you.
For the role of Student Liaison, I wouldn’t say there’s really a typical day or week. The work ebbs and flows with different seasons. Fall and winter tend to be more rest, recovery, and refresh time, focused inwardly on reviewing feedback and improving resources and preparing systems and operations for the year ahead. Spring is the wind-up—preparing and testing applications, then approving incoming applications, assigning mentors, locking down logistical details—and summer is finally go-time!
What is your goal of your team?
We are focused on continuing to raise up a Generation of Servant Leaders, Championing the Cause of Freedom & Truth!
What has been a memorable experience during your time with PA?
Oh goodness, it is SO hard to pick one thing! There have been so many hilarious moments over the years: from backwards tear ducts (seriously!!), to infamous golf-ball (stealing…?) stories, to pink shorts with alligators on them—because, of course, pink shorts with alligators on them belong in state Capitol buildings… if you know, you know 😄 The stories are endless, and the memories made are priceless!
What would you say to someone interested in doing what you do?
If someone is interested in doing what I’m doing, I would say ‘Go for it!!’ with the utmost enthusiasm! Serving as Student Liaison has been nothing but a blessing in my life. At the same time, this role has grown and stretched me in ways I never thought possible. This is what I’ve learned – make sure your heart is in the right place (and that only comes by true, full, and deep submission to Christ), that you approach every situation with grace, patience, and objectivity, willing to hear what others have to say, and be prepared to bring peace and clarity to any confusion even if you yourself don’t fully know the answer or solution. You need to be flexible in approach, but firm in principle; professional, yet approachable; a leader, yet relatable; exercising humility and grace through all the iron-sharpening-iron opportunities that will inevitably come your way. Working closely with a tight-knit team will strengthen your bonds with people whose godly influence and guidance will refine your attitude, mind, and heart.
What are your hidden talents? 🙂 What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’ve loved horses and music all my life. I’ve ridden Dressage, Western, and Hunter/Jumper disciplines. I’ve been classically trained in piano since 2007, competing in and winning numerous competitions throughout high school, and also accompanying and leading worship. Additionally, I love singing, baking, the outdoors, health and fitness, reading, research, and learning new languages (Spanish, Russian, Armenian, etc.) and practical skills (wilderness survival, construction, homesteading, etc.).
What’s your favorite coffee at the Patriot Brew?
Ahh! Okay, okay… bonus fact about me: I work remotely for Patriot Academy, so I am ashamed to say that, as of right now, I haven’t yet gotten to explore the extensive Patriot Brew menu. However, y’all better put the coffee shop crew on alert for when this coffee-lover shows up on Campus this summer!
What motivates you to do your best work?
In short, “Whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31). Our God is worth putting forth our best effort for! We are so imperfect, and will always fall short no matter how hard we try, but He is so good to redeem our shortcomings and make His strength perfect in our weaknesses. I can see His divine providence in my life, and through my journey of faith and growing in the Lord have become fully convinced that as a Christian, I want to shine the love and light of my Savior in everything I do—not only in work, but in every aspect of my life, as a testimony of gratitude for what He’s done (His salvation and sanctification) for me, and as a witness of His saving power and grace.
What is something God has been teaching you this past year?
I’m learning to put my entire trust completely in Christ (especially when my life hasn’t turned out the way I thought it would by this point). Trust has historically been a hard trait for me to exercise, but it has also been such a beautiful journey of revelation, realizing that God has a unique plan for each of His children, and that all things work together for good to those who love Him! I’m also learning to have more of a heart for the home and serving my family as well as finding joy in everything, even the hard stuff, and continuing to be a better witness of Christ to everyone the Lord puts in my path.
Giulia is honored to be working with Patriot Academy and the Leadership Congress Program. She’s known about Patriot Academy for many years, became a Constitution Coach and first attended as a student in 2020, then had one of her biggest dreams come true when she was welcomed onto the team in 2022! She is so excited for all that God has in store for Patriot Academy, and prays we continue making an impact for His glory.
