We did it in April — and now we need to do it ONE MORE TIME.
Because YOU showed up in Austin or wrote in your testimony, we won a huge victory at the State Board of Education in April. The new social studies standards brought back American Exceptionalism, American heroes, original founding documents, kept Celebrate Freedom Week, included the Judeo-Christian influences that actually shaped America, and refused to bow to the attempted Islamification of Texas curriculum. That was YOU. Thank you.
But this is not finished. Monday, June 22nd begins the weeklong SBOE meeting that will include the FINAL VOTE on these social studies TEKS — and the opposition is more organized and more energized than they were in April. They are bringing buses. They are flooding the inbox. They are coming for amendments that will gut everything we just won. We cannot let up now. If we win this final adoption, it will be HUGE — a generational victory not just for Texas, but for the nation, because most states adopt Texas textbooks.
I will be back in our State’s Capitol on June 22nd to testify, and I would love to take a big group with me again. Patriot Mobile, David Barton, and many partners are coordinating. We need bodies in that room.

HOW TO TESTIFY (you’ll have about 2 minutes):
Be brief, specific, POLITE, and KEEP IT POSITIVE. Thank the board for what they got right and ask them to hold the line on the final vote. You do NOT have to use every point below — pick ONE or TWO that fit you and speak from the heart. Below are talking points you can choose from:
- Thank you for maintaining a strong emphasis on the Western traditions and principles that shaped Texas and America. I encourage you to reject any new amendments that would undermine that important focus.
- Your decision to include Judeo-Christian influences in the standards is important because they are part of the historical record and played a significant role in shaping aspects of American culture, civic life, and institutions. Teaching these influences helps students gain a more complete understanding of the ideas and traditions that helped form Texas and the United States.
- Please continue strengthening the history of Western civilization. America is a nation enriched by people from many backgrounds, but it is united by a shared commitment to the principles of liberty, self-government, the rule of law, and individual rights.
- Preserving and teaching the Texas story is essential for helping students understand our state’s heritage and identity. I encourage the SBOE to ensure that Texas and American history remain at the center of social studies instruction and to reject amendments that would weaken that emphasis.
- Continue to keep Texas and American history as the foundational component of the standards – do not succumb to politically driven revisions that undermine it.
- I appreciate you including the important role that Judeo-Christian heritage has played in shaping our laws, civic traditions, and system of government.
- Vote YES to the proposed TEKS. Vote NO on amendments that will weaken instruction on Western civilization. Students should understand the historical and cultural foundations that gave rise to these ideals and continue to bind us together as one nation and one people.
- Continue to keep Texas and American history as the foundational component of the standards. Do not allow special-interest agendas to displace core historical content.
- The TEKS vote does not need to be paused to appease the demands of special interest groups. The review followed the approved timeline, and with the Ad Hoc Committee beginning in 2024, the process actually received extended review time.
- Thank you for including The Great Awakening and The Reformation.
- Thank you for including the truth that Pilgrims came to America so they could worship God freely.
- Thank you for including the meaning of the Texas flag, Lone Star, and colors.
- I appreciate that you added the requirement for students to memorize the Star-Spangled Banner.
- Thank you for adding that a student’s good citizenship includes citing the Pledge of Allegiance by standing, facing the flag, and placing the hand over the heart.
- I appreciate that you included the Mayflower Compact and its foundation on Christian beliefs.
- Thank you for removing everything that honors Islam from the TEKS.
A FEW REMINDERS: - Be brief, specific, POLITE, and POSITIVE — thank them first, then ask.
- Late registration is available on-site up to 30 minutes before the meeting (7:00–7:30 AM) at the chair’s discretion — but do NOT count on it. REGISTER BY 5:00 PM FRIDAY.
- If you cannot attend, your written testimony to [email protected] still matters — they DO count the volume of input.
- Bring a friend. Bring your kids. Just being in the room with us makes a difference.
We won in April because you showed up or wrote in. Let’s finish what we started on June 22nd.
