One thing I appreciate about the Institute, is that it attracts passionate, driven leaders who constantly challenge and sharpen one another. During my time there, I studied the lives of influential church leaders, explored different religions and worldviews, learned about American history, and prepared for and debated alongside some of the smartest individuals I know. The Institute gave me opportunities to step up and lead. One of the greatest lessons I learned is that leadership often means being willing to fail. You’re going to make mistakes, but you’ll learn far more by stepping out than by staying comfortable. It’s always better to have tried and learned than to never have tried at all.

The Patriot Institute is a phenomenal place to grow and learn. The people you meet will change your life – both by testing and trying you, and by building you up. If you are going to attend the Institute you have to be intentional. It is vital to come to the institute with a plan. Strive for our country, and fight for it! God bless.

No conversation is too hard, no question off-limits, no debate too controversial, and no point of view too problematic to be discussed. This is a rare and precious environment to be in these days. My time at the Institute forced me to search out why I believe what I believe, and learn how to defend my stances with grace and truth. This place draws such a high caliber of young men and women who have sharpened me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. Over and over throughout these nine months we called one another to higher standards, to do the hard things, and to seek knowledge and understanding. I wouldn’t be who I am today without my Institute classmates – the people I now call my family.

A year at the Patriot Institute is one that will change you. We all have a race to run in this life, but I knew if I took some time to train, I could run the race harder and better than I ever thought possible. That time of training was my year at the Patriot Institute. Every aspect of it worked to sculpt and grow me as a Christian, a leader, and an individual. When there was a moment that seemed easy, there was always an encouragement to push harder and not rest in comfort, and yet, when it was hard, no one wanted you to succeed more than the people around you. A standard was set that created an environment that was the most encouraging but also the most honest, transparent, and tenacious that I have seen. It urged me to push myself, no matter what level of experience or ability I had. This environment broke down walls of pride, insecurity, and expectation, and welcomed me to simply search out and walk in the identity and calling God had given to me. It was a year unlike any other.

My time at the Institute was more impactful than I ever thought possible from a 9 month program. The Institute gave me the skills and resources to find my calling, and the confidence to step into it boldly. At the Institute I found a family of Godly, freedom-loving, family centered brothers and sisters in Christ. A more Godly, welcoming, fierce group of warriors for God and country I have never seen anywhere else. But most importantly, my time at the Institute grew me in my walk with the Lord. Whether it be trusting Him in an impromptu speech, or learning His word more deeply in Bible studies and conversion, to seeing His hand though the trials of my life and those around me, my faith is not the same since I went to the Institute. The Patriot Institute changes those who experience it, and grows scholars into better citizens of Heaven and Earth.
