It’s one thing for us to tell you about the impact Patriot Academy is having, and the difference it is making in the hearts and lives of America’s leaders, but it’s another thing for us to show you.
And what better way than through the testimony of the students themselves.
I was introduced to politics and government as a young boy. At first, I wasn’t terribly interested. Then in my teen years, politics, government and the Founding Fathers really became an interest in my life.
I enjoyed learning about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers, but I thought politics was something to stay away from. When I looked at the many problems facing this amazing nation, I would think, “What. Is. The. Point? What can a guy like me do to bring change to nation or a people this far gone?”
Sadly, this is how many people feel today. However, Patriot Academy showed me something different, and actually gave me an answer to that question.
At first, I had some serious doubts about Patriot Academy.
After hearing about Patriot Academy at a conference, I thought, “There are so many other programs out there that are trying to ‘suck you in’, what makes this one different?” I really had no interest in what I thought they were going to do and teach.
As the date for Patriot Academy came close and the deadline to sign-up came even closer, I started feeling more curious about it. Eventually, through the prayers and encouragement of a dear friend from Patriot Academy, through my disbelief, everything was submitted and accepted the night of the deadline. That was all God!
There is no way I could express the emotions I felt at the end of Patriot Academy that year. But what I will tell you is that after Patriot Academy, I finally had an answer to my pessimistic question of “What can a guy like me do to bring change to nation or a people this far gone?” and it was simple:
The change would start with me.
Through leadership, morality, conviction, confidence and most importantly through the understanding of the Gospel of Christ, I could bring change.
Patriot Academy showed how to equip myself, and then how to reach out to others through actions and words. I now saw politics as something to embrace and use for good.
I now knew what I needed to do.
After Patriot Academy, I now have the tools to get up and go. I have the knowledge to meet the objective. I am prepared and ready to stand boldly for Truth. And that’s what Patriot Academy is all about.
